Each one of us has a place we all call home. Each home has special characteristics and aesthetics which have a profound impact on who we are. The imagery of home, may bring us back to baking chocolate chip cookies with Mom, or first learning to ride a bike. Teaching your own children how to play the piano, or sitting around the table eating a delicious Thanksgiving dinner Maybe it’s even meeting those new-born grand-kids for the very first time. Whatever your image is of home, It’s your memories, your family, your life- simply stated, it’s yours.
Yet life changes; kids grow up, friends move on, family changes. Your home should be able to adapt to those changes. All without losing the cherished memories and characteristics that have gone into creating your home.
We strive to utilize our knowledge and expertise to give your home the enhancement it needs. We don’t live in your home, you do. You know what you like, what you desire, your lifestyle. we are simply there to bring your ideas to fruition.
The story was once told of a boy who while walking along the beach, which was littered with star-fish. He methodically went to each individual star-fish and gently tossed it back into the ocean. An old man watched the boy briefly picking up and tossing star-fish back into the sea. He saw the never-ending task ahead of the boy, and went to talk with him. He kindly asked the boy what he was doing- he possibly could not make a difference to all the star-fish on the beach. The boy, looked up at the old man and quietly tossed another star-fish and simply stated “to that one I made a difference.”
At Haven Architecture, we are not the perfect architect. We simply devote all our knowledge and efforts into making your home a perfect fit for you. To you, we can make a difference. After all, a home is much more than simply a roof over your head. It’s your haven.

What We Do
Custom Homes
More often than not, your property is a blank piece of land. Nothing there but the natural terrain. Often times, a native piece of land is the most difficult to work with. Typically a custom project is the only way to work with the existing nuances and lay of the land. By massaging your home to fit within the existing landscape, a much more unique, cost-effective and functional home will become yours.
Multi-Family
Sometimes, the need to supplement you income, or provide a possible retirement that comes in the form of owning rental properties. Whether that is through duplex type units or projects on a much larger scale, we can work through the rigorous code and accessibility requirements that allow such a project to get off the ground and into development. Along with this the tiny home movement or even the Airbnb movement is a worthwhile and efficient way to supplement, and create passive your income.
Additions
As we have stated, sometimes you are living in your dream home, and all you need is a little more space. Throughout our design process, we will analyze your current home, and offer our suggestions to make the additional living space the most comprehensive and cost-effective as possible.
Prefab / Modular
In this day and age, nothing is easy; construction of any project can become quite a headache. By utilizing the speed and simplistic efficiency of modular construction, your project can meet or even exceed that of a traditional construction approach. More often than not, modular buildings can be just as beautiful and creative as a traditionally built project. Modular design is a relatively new phenomenon to hit the construction industry. We have taken the time to learn and work closely with this project delivery method to create unique residential and commercial modular buildings.
Remodels
Sometimes, simply designing a new home with all the new gadgets and amenities is simply not in the cards. Those dreams of building new might not even be a possibility, or you may not even have the desire to construct a new home. Maybe, renovating and restoring an existing home is more of a desire. We understand that you may already own your dream home. If that is the case, renovating and remodeling can add value to your home, enhance its current appeal, all while preserving the period character, charm, old-world craftsmanship and presence that made your home attractive in the first place. It is impossible to replace the years and years of memories that have been built up in your current home.
Renovations
Instead of simply getting rid of your old home and the memories, what can serve a home better than enhancing and reinvigorating new life into an existing home? Additions, renovations, interior finish update, all enhance what it already there. Instead of creating a brand new home without the memories, enhancing and revitalizing your existing dream can still have the effect of brand new living. Your renovated haven awaits.
Meet The Architect

I didn’t start out originally in Western New York, I’ve only been here since 2009. Yet more recently, my family and I have decided to settle down. We officially became proud residents of East Aurora within the last couple of years. My love of architecture began when I discovered Legos as a kid. I still play with them, and occasionally share the Legos with my kids. I never thought I would enjoy running a small boutique architecture firm, yet here I am, enjoying every minute of it. Haven Architecture, has been in the works in some form (unofficially) or another for a number of years. Yet officially being founded in 2015.
I originally hail from the State of Utah, Salt Lake City to be exact. I’ve been lucky enough to have practiced the architecture profession in a number of states throughout the country (Utah, Idaho, Arizona, Washington, and now New York). I completed my undergraduate degree in architecture at the University of Utah, and then received my Master’s degree in architecture through the University of Idaho.
During the licensing process, a cross-country move brought us (my family and I) across the country to Western New York. The area and beautiful surroundings have grown on us, and with Haven Architecture blossoming into a successful business, Western New York, specifically the small town of East Aurora NY has become home to the firm.
